Joe Root is not the best batsman in the world- Sunil Gavaskar

 In the first match of the four-Test series between India and England, England defeated Team India by 228 runs. Captain Joe Root batted brilliantly in the first innings, scoring a double century in his 100th Test match. England dominated the Indian team in all three divisions of the game. Chasing a target of 420 in the second innings, Team India were all out for just 192 runs.

oe Root was named Man of the Match for his strong innings and was praised by many former cricketers. Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar, meanwhile, has spoken out against Root, saying he does not consider the England Test captain to be the best batsman in the world. Speaking on a talk show on broadcaster Star Sports, Sunil Gavaskar said,

 "He is a very good batsman. However, I don't think he is the best batsman in the world. There are four contestants for this and he is included in the list of these four. However, I think the route level is a bit lower than the other three. ”

 Gavaskar praised Joe Root's formidable innings in Chennai, saying,

"The best of Joe Root's double centuries was that he was very confident from the start and he was also very positive to play for front or back. He was clear that when he was in the front, he was playing the spin and when he was in the back, he was deciding that he had room to hit the ball. ”

 Joe Root scored 218 in the first innings of the first Test and 40 in the second. England made 58 in the first innings thanks to Root's innings. Root became the first batsman in the world to score a double century in his 100th Test match. Joe Root equals Michael Vaughan's record for most Test wins as England captain. If Root wants to win the second Test in Chennai, he will become England's best Test captain. Root has already overtaken Alastair Cook.
